This body of work is part of an on-going series, entitled "Seeking Coalescence". I merge photography with charcoal and pastels in a manner which best provides a complex viewing experience. My interest in layering mechanical form with abstract drawing ideally yields intriguing and dynamic formal mutations.
I begin with a large-scale charcoal and pastel drawing on paper, and through photographic projections, create new combinations which result in archival digital images. They are printed on rag paper in limited editions, with various sizes ranging from 20" x 30" or larger, depending on format. Original charcoal and pastel drawings on paper also available for exhibition/sales.
The following images represent a cross-section of my recent body of works. Ranging from current still-life transparency investigations, to “Chariot Mécanique” series inspired by French farming equipment and several original charcoal drawings.
